Fibre Optic Lighting

Fibreoptics can be divided into two distinct sub-sections: Home/commercial lighting for general purpose lighting and decorative lighting.

Fiber Optic lighting uses a bright white source (both LED or incandescent) transmitting via an acrylic cable to a fixture or point of light, making it safer to use in the home and in a business. Fibre optic lighting lasts far longer than traditional lighting fixtures and is much more flexible. It uses less energy than most other light sources, making it a greener alternative. Because Fiberoptic lighting does not get hot like most other light sources, it is great for all applications including commercial freezers or museums, avoiding damage and fading to goods.

LED Lighting

LED lighting has been used for many years in indicator lights and numeric displays on consumer electronic devices and message boards. With improvements in LED materials and production, brighter, more efficient and more colorful LED’s are now available which have moved the technology to a wide range of lighting applications.

The main features and benefits of LED technology are; durability, long lamp life, compact fixture design and low energy requirements. These factors make for an excellent choice for sign lighting, building perimeter lighting and pool and spa lighting as well as many architectural lighting applications.

Architectural Lighting

Architectural lighting systems combine quality and flexibility in both LED lighting and Fibre Optic lighting systems. Architectural LED systems represents the foundation of fixtures and controls for interior and exterior applications like flood lighting, cove lighting, step lighting and interior accent lighting. The wide range of fiber optic illuminators, cables and fixtures provide the fundamental building blocks for incredible star ceilings, linear lighting and interior accent lighting.

The popularity of fibre optics among designers include the color changing ability of fibre through the use of colour filters and special effects that can be produced through the use of colour wheels, synchronous controllers and DMX systems. This lighting works well outside or in wet/damp places, without the dangers of shock hazards.
